Dezrezlegal and our partner company Dezrez asks their staff yearly to nominate two charities every year; one local and one national to allow any funds raised to go to charities that the staff care about. We believe that we are lucky enough to be in a position to come to work every day and feel supported and like to give back to the community whether it be by baking, running or dressing in our pyjamas. This year, it was decided that the local charity would be Maggies and the National charity would be the National Autistic Society.
Maggie’s provides free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer and their family and friends, following the ideas about cancer care originally laid out by Maggie Keswick Jencks. Built in the grounds of NHS cancer hospitals, Maggie’s Centres are places with professional staff on hand to offer the support people need. Our Centres are places to find practical advice about benefits and eating well; places where qualified experts provide emotional support; places to meet other people; places where you can simply sit quietly with a cup of tea.
National Autistic Society
Since they started the first autism-specific school in the world in 1965, they’ve been testing out the best ways to support autistic people of all ages. Today they run residential, supported living, community day hubs, outreach, befriending, social groups and employment support services for adults as well as specialist schools, autism centres in mainstream schools and further education support for children and young people.
